Stavanger visit

I've been to Stavanger this weekend, visiting a young man in my family. We had a great time when we finally arrived. We were very delayed though, due to heavy snow fall in the Southern part of Norway. Saturday was primarily an IKEA day. I needed to see what my future kitchen looked like in "real life".

We had lovely days, walking, relaxing, shopping and enjoying a large bath tub with scented water and candles around, I was served some champagne as well :0)

Something fishy ;)

I've been busy and absent lately, very busy! But we had to take time to prepare some food. Friends from work passed by with 12 kg of cod. Father/father-in-law had caught 600kg, - amazing. Here is one of the fishes we had, before it's prepared.

Weakness??

I have given in and ordered new yarn, I couldn't stand it any longer, - just choosing from my old stash. This is the yarn I've ordered and I'm so looking forward to making a Miyaki.

Reinøya

We had a lovely weekend with friends. Look at the sky, the colours are splendid. Actually it nearly felt like spring, at least April :0)
Nyvold is the name of the neighbouring house and it's a live-in-museum.

I'm bored

.... very bored! The yarn from US hasn't arrived and I'm so in between projects. I've knitted another Thermis and started with two new wrist warmers, simultaniuosly.

"Housewifish"?

In my attempt of being a housewife, I enjoy cooking, I made "fiskekaker" yesterday. I can't think of an English name of this dish, but you mince fish (filet) and add milk, maizena, salt and spice, and finally you fry a spoonfull to make the "cakes". They taste delicious.

Gratulerer med dagen

Hope you all have a terrific March the 8, celebrating women from all over the world and taking part in struggles against supression and injustic.

The photo is from our local newpaper, "Nordlys", showing what a splendid weather we're having.

Wham bam, thank you Lamb

.. again my knitting tends to be too big. It looked fine until I started wearing it, so I'll frog it and use smaller needles... credit to the designer

Finally...

... after several disappointments, the yarn I ordered to finish my shawl is shipped, here is the latest e-mail, stating that the missing skein has reappeared;
"Hi Guro,Lucky enough, i have found the last ball of #84 in hiding! Your order has shipped, thank you so much for your patience!--Hannah
The Yarn and Fiber Company"
Before I came this far I had asked fellow Ravelry knitters to help me, and they did a great job, but the cost of shipping is incredible.....

In Norwegian we have a saying which goes like this: "Everything is good that ends well", it didn't translate well :0), meanwhile I have finished another Thermis, getting too big, and started a "Wham bam, Thank you Lamb".

Waiting activities

A new Thermis while I'm waiting for the yarn for my Clapotis. I've even found some Noro yarn from Acorn Street Shop, 2818 NE.55th Street Seattle, WA. I bought this single skein and it's only 100 metres. When I startede knitting, I relized that I didn't like the way the colours developed though. The plan was to knit this beautiful west, Elisabeth from the magazin: Noro joy.

Jaja, sånn kan det gå. Æ ska lage en sjølkomponert hals av garnnøstet. Vesten SKAL æ strikke, men no har æ skjønt at æ må bestille rett garn, Noro, Matsuri, shade 5.
